Just wanted to put the word out that we have begun the process of designing and building a brand new website!
It will feature a gallery page dedicated to each of our in-house artists where you will be able to buy a selection of prints by the artist, read a bio, view his or her website, and more.
We will also have a live calendar that will be automatically updated so you can get the latest information on all our shows...no more confusion on dates and times!
We will also showcase upcoming raffle items on the website, and you will be able to purchase tickets and donate directly to the non-profit we are supporting.
There will be many other cool new features so keep checking our blog here for updates until then.

Things to Look Forward to in Fall
Fall marks the beginning of the new season for St Lawrence Gallery, and as such we are looking forward to putting some new event ideas into reality:
Starting in October, "First Fridays," the first Friday of every month will be an art opening for one of our gallery artists, paired with a suitable non-profit organization. If you are affiliated with a non-profit organization and have a specific date or idea in mind for your organization then contact us ASAP as we will be scheduling soon.
We are also looking at the idea of having an abstract nautical/marine art exhibit. Since we are traditionally towards the realist side of things, we thought it would be fun to host an abstract show to mix it up. We will be doing a call to artists later in the summer, the exhibit will be displayed for 3 weeks or so in the fall.
And although it is a while away yet, Christmas is an opportunity to try out something different too. I think a Christmas themed art exhibit may go down well. We are not sure of the exact format of the show/art yet, but your input is welcome!
One last note on the same theme - Seafarer's House is looking for artists to do a Christmas card design for them this year. They are looking for one traditionally themed design, and one "Holiday" card. This would be a voluntary project, simply getting your name out to a new crowd. If you are interested then please contact us at the gallery and we will give you details.

A new endeavour
Yes, we have finally taken the step and started a blog for the St Lawrence Gallery! Our hopes here are to keep all interested informed on what's going on with our business. We'll also post useful information for artists, the south florida art scene, keep you up to date with the latest trends in the business.
Our goal is to serve artists, our loyal customers, and the fine art community. Although summer is typically slow season for galleries in the Fort Lauderdale area, we like to think of it as a time to re-group our thoughts and plan for the upcoming year.
Starting in the fall we will be hosting a number of exciting events and fundraisers, not the least of which is the final round of the Bonnet House Best of the Artists Series which has been ongoing this summer. We are letting the people decide on the best of the 14 artists exhibiting throughout the summer. Opening dates are July 17th, August 21st, September 18th, and the Grand Finale on October 16th. All shows are 6-9pm and include wine, cheese, shrimp, and even live music at a couple.
We are also now heavily involved in fine art reproduction services for our artists at a very reasonable price. Check out www.stlawrenceprints.com for more info.
