Now through the end of March 2010 we are collecting new and used art supplies for the children of Haiti: (from January Newsletter issued January 7, 2010)
For the first time St. Lawrence Gallery is teaming up with Cross International to collect new and used art supplies for impoverished children. Now through the end of March St. Lawrence Gallery will be collecting new and used art supplies to be sent to children in Haiti who have little if anything in their classrooms to support creativity.
WHO IS CROSS: Cross International Catholic Outreach's priority is to help "the poorest of the poor." Their ministry began in Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and home to some of the most destitute people in our modern world. Efforts have since grown to reach those suffering extreme poverty in other Caribbean countries as well as countries throughout Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Cross International Catholic Outreach locates needy church-based ministries serving the poor and distributes material aid through their existing programs. In this way, they can supply meaningful help where it is needed most.
HOW CAN YOU HELP: You can help by bringing us, St. Lawrence Gallery your unused, partially used or new art supplies including paints (not including oils), brushes, pens, pencils, crayons, paper, glue or any others art supplies that you or your children do not use anymore. This is a great opportunity to help others and clean out your art bins. Again, we are accepting new and used art supplies of all kinds, right here at our Gallery. You can bring your supplies to be donated to any of our events, or during regular business hours:
Monday - Saturday 10am -6pm.
